The power of reflection

If you are anything like me, you’ve probably been struggling to catch a breath lately! I know I have been! We had our first day with our students today and boy did I need to use every mindset trick I teach about on myself! Between starting my 3 year old back in preschool after 6 months of being at home with me, getting my classroom set up, figuring out how I’m going to teach to my in-person students as well as my remote learners, getting my own children situated in school and finally serving to my community and my clients, I feel like I’ve been running a marathon.

Although life is super busy right now for me, I always remember to take some time (usually at night when the kids are asleep and I have some quiet moments to myself) to reflect.

Reflection is a powerful technique that can really help you improve your mindset. When you reflect and are thinking about all the good things that went on in the day, you are creating these memories in your mind and the more positive emotions you involve in your reflection, the more you are able to create more positive memories. Your momentum increases and you are practicing being grateful with barely any effort at all. You are simply just thinking about all the good things that happened in your day and taking note of it in your mind.

You are allowing your mind to register it and look for more experiences and opportunities that are going to create similar emotions for you. Tell me in the comments, do you reflect on your day regularly?
