Fear is an emotion that all humans experience naturally. Its purpose is to keep us safe when danger or harm is present. The thing is humans and our society has evolved so much that our fear responses don’t need to be used as frequently as they would’ve had to in the past. Our subconscious minds however just work on the way we condition it to work so chances are if you haven’t done any fear work before in your personal development journey, your fear is preventing you from AT LEAST one thing you want to do in your life today.
The thing is with fear is that it’s not always a bad thing. In fact, we can use fear to our advantage. If we want to grow and do those amazing things in our life then we need to get VERY comfortable with fear. How do we do this? By feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
Yes, I know it’s SO much easier said than done right? Luckily for you though if you are signed up to get my e-mails that means you care about working on your mindset! And I’m here to deliver you today some practical things you can do to make facing your fears easier. Let’s break this down in three steps:
1) The first step to feeling the fear and doing it anyway, is to have AWARENESS on what you are afraid of. Seems so obvious but you’d be surprised to know that a lot of women don’t know their personal fears because they are neatly tucked away in your subconscious mind. Think about an area in your life where you feel like you’ve been playing small. Ask yourself this: What am I afraid of?
2) Once you’ve identified your fear, then ask yourself WHY? Dig deeper and deeper until you can’t dig anymore. You’ll probably come across a statement such as these:
-I’m not worthy.
-I don’t feel good enough.
-I’m afraid I’ll fail.
3) Rewire your limiting beliefs into empowering beliefs!
If you don’t know this already, these statements are called LIMITING BELIEFS. And these are what’s stopping you from living the life of your dreams. We all have limiting beliefs and it’s one of my favorite things to teach on so GUESS WHAT!
